History
Westminster College was established in 1875 by the Presbyterian Church. Before ownership of the college by the Presbyterian Church ended in 1974, it had grown from a preparatory school to a four-year college. Under the executive direction of the Board of Trustees, the college is the only fully independent, private, nondenomininational, liberal arts institution of higher learning in Utah. The college is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
